Materials needed:

A clean avocado core
Toothpick or wooden skewer
Glass of water
Flower Pot
Potting soil
Indirect sunlight

Steps:

Start by carefully removing the avocado pit, cleaning it to remove any remaining flesh. Be careful not to damage it.

Insert 3 or 4 toothpicks or wooden skewers around the core, about one-third of its height. This will serve as a support to keep the core partially submerged in water.

Suspend the core over a glass of water so that the bottom part is partially submerged. Make sure the bottom of the core is in contact with water, while the top part stays dry. Place it in a warm place with indirect sunlight.

Change the water in the glass every 3-4 days to prevent mold and mildew from forming. Make sure the bottom part of the core remains submerged.

After about 2 to 6 weeks, you should see roots start to grow from the bottom of the pit. Wait for the stem to emerge, which may take a few more weeks.

Once the stem is about 15 cm tall, transplant the pit into a flower pot with potting soil. Plant it in such a way that the top half of the pit is visible.

Place the pot in a sunny spot with indirect light. Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, but avoid overwatering, as avocado trees don't like soggy soil.
