The IDF announced Wednesday morning that reserve lieutenant Yuval Zilber, 25, from Ramat Gan, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip yesterday. Zilber was a platoon commander in the Jerusalem Brigade. His family was notified of his death.

Yesterday, the names of 15 fighters who fell in the war were allowed to be published, and yesterday it was reported that two fighters of the Givati Patrol fell in battle against terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip. The fighters, Staff Sergeant Roy Wolf, 20, from Ramat Gan, and Staff Sergeant Lavi Lifshitz, 20, from Modi'in Maccabim Reut, were killed by an anti-tank missile that hit the building where they were staying. Two other fighters in the cruiser were seriously wounded in the battle and their families were notified.

So far, more than 300 soldiers have fallen in battle.

IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a statement to the media on Tuesday that the ground maneuvers in the Gaza Strip included heavy fighting. "Our fighters at this time are fighting on the battlefield with courage and bravery," Hagari said. "There are also fierce battles in the Gaza Strip. This fighting is dangerous and we must understand that there are costs to it. We will all need resilience and patience."

To date, the names of 326 fallen IDF soldiers who fell in Operation Iron Swords have been allowed to be published. This number includes the fighters of the alert squads in the various localities, but does not include the dozens of policemen and ISA personnel who fell in battle.
