Since the beginning of the fighting, they have been operating under fire deep inside the Gaza Strip, rescuing and providing medical treatment to IDF soldiers, fighters from Unit 669, the Special Rescue Tactical Unit, medical teams and IAF helicopter squadrons.
So far, about 260 wounded have been evacuated to hospitals in Israel, as part of about 150 helicopter and ground rescue operations in cooperation with ground forces and elite IDF units.
The 669 mobility teams provide initial medical care and rescue fighters from the Gaza Strip. The dedicated teams evacuate the wounded by ride from the field and join the helicopter teams at various points, which shortens evacuation times and saves lives.
