The evacuation, carried out in cooperation with medical teams and squadrons of the IAF's Sa'ar helicopters, as well as ground forces and elite IDF units, was often carried out under fire, Deep inside Palestinian territory. So far, the names of 25 fighters killed since the beginning of the ground maneuvers in the Gaza Strip have been allowed to be published, out of the more than 300 IDF casualties who fell since the beginning of the "Iron Swords" war. This number includes the fighters of the alert squads who defended the communities in the envelope on October 7, but not the dozens of policemen and ISA fighters who fell in the fighting.
