92,000 is the number of child pornography videos featuring Jean-Christophe Q., a 55-year-old Frenchman and former expatriate in Asia. Since his arrest in the spring of 2019, French investigators have analysed footage of every fellatio, golden shower and other sordid sexual practices inflicted on Asian boys over three decades. In order to determine age, identity and thus create "victim files", they observed the weakness of the body, the hairiness and the size of the genitals. They repeatedly zoomed in on their skin looking for a tattoo, a scar. For Malaysia alone, that's 5000 hours of viewing.
"We watch child pornography every day. But these were particularly disgusting," insists Véronique Bechu, current head of the specialized office on minors at the Directorate of the Judicial Police. In front of the Paris criminal court on Friday, her voice betrays an emotion she cannot contain: "Following these repeated viewings, some colleagues had to stop for two to three weeks to get some fresh air."
