A scooter is parked in the yard of one of the houses in a Gaza neighborhood. She arrived here on October 7, as part of a looting campaign carried out by Gaza residents on kibbutzim. "Load it on the cruel," says one commander. "We'll bring her home."
The scooter apparently belongs to one of the residents of Nahal Oz. From this area came the terrorists who raided the kibbutz and the nearby outpost, followed by the mob that joined the campaign of destruction and looting. None of the looters are here now: the neighborhood is empty, and only IDF forces operate there as part of the force led by the 36th Division, which is responsible for cutting off the Gaza Strip between Gaza City and the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
On Friday, I joined the IDF forces operating in the area. Near the Gaza Strip fence (or what was left of it), we met Col. Y., the brigade commander.
After a briefing, we entered the armored armored personnel unit, and at 11:45 A.M. we started driving west. Col. Y. asked us to buckle up, so that if an IED was activated we wouldn't fly inside the vehicle. When we crossed the border, the Trophy system was also activated: the main threat to the forces here is anti-tank missiles and RPGs, along with booby-trapped drones and, of course, sniping.
