The Association of Police and Prison Guards' Wives said in response: "We strongly condemn the calls made towards police officers at the demonstration that took place this evening. Israeli police officers were and still are at the forefront of protecting the citizens of the State of Israel, and 58 policemen and women officers even lost their lives fighting against terrorists and showed courage and resourcefulness. Many of the policemen were wounded in the fighting and are still hospitalized. We call on the citizens of the State of Israel to stand behind the Israel Police and police officers in these difficult times and strengthen them for the sake of the well-being and security of the State of Israel."
