An exciting initiative for the evacuated children of the envelope will begin today at a bi-national school in Jaffa. About 5,000 bags will be packed by the students for the children in the envelope, with the school bags full of everything needed to start school anew.

Einat Geva, principal of the Jaffa Multicultural Education Campus school in Tel Aviv-Yafo (formerly Ironi Z), told Israel Hayom, "The students are very excited about the start of the project, it was not easy to set up such a war room for activity and creativity here, but it really gave light in the students' eyes, they feel that this is how they help children who were violently uprooted from their homes and now need to start learning again in new places. These children often left their homes with literally nothing, and we are here giving them a starting point and a hug from school."

The exciting operation, which will begin today (Sunday), is called "Lattik", in which students from all over the country pack about 15,000 bags, including everything required for the return of students from the envelope to the educational frameworks. The packing operation is led by Latet as part of the organization's wartime humanitarian aid response. Its goal is to provide every boy and girl with quality educational equipment, and to provide them with a drop of light and optimism during the difficult days they are going through.

"It's fun to know you're part of something big"

Shiran, a 12th grade student at the Jaffa Education Campus Multicultural School, said, "It's an amazing feeling to be able to contribute during these difficult times, it's fun to know that you're part of something big that makes people happy and helps others." Haim, a ninth-grade student, added, "I see every day how our people pitch in and help each other, it's fun to be part of our people to contribute and be here."

Gilles Darmon, President and Founder of Latet, also spoke about the special project, saying, "The last few days have been unbearable, the resilience of the home front is important and we are working around the clock to maintain its strength to function as a social Iron Dome for the citizens of the country. To see the schoolchildren today pitching in and helping the children in the envelope is not a given. Their concern for the children in the envelope is a point of light and hope in dark days like these."

In addition to Latet's activities, the one who enlisted and led the school's activities was the Education Department of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, which joined the activity and led the school's contribution.
