The controversial aid organization IHH has called for a demonstration in front of the Incirlik military base, which is used by the US Air Force. Riots broke out.
Incirlik – Since the Hamas terrorist militia attacked Israel on October 7, not only anti-Semitism has become more visible in Turkey, but also hatred of America. In recent weeks, nationalists and Islamists have repeatedly called for the closure of the Incirlik air base in the south of the country, which is used by the US Air Force. In recent days, anti-US sentiment has escalated considerably over its support for Israel.
IHH Chief Threatens Volunteer Army Against Israel
Islamists and nationalists from several cities had set off today for the march on Incirlik. The organizer of the action is the controversial aid organization IHH, which is close to the government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The chairman of the IHH, Bülent Yıldırım, had previously warned the West about the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. "If we start with volunteer fighters, we will kill you in our spit. Do you think we are silent," Yıldırım said at a rally.
On X (formerly Twitter), Yıldırım shared the goal of this action. "May Allah save us and all Muslim countries from these American bases." On the convoys consisting of cars, buses and trucks, in addition to Palestine flags, banners with anti-Semitic slogans could be seen. On one truck was the inscription with the slogan "Down with the Israeli pigs".

Protest is cancelled before Blinken arrives
In front of the military base, riots broke out between the demonstrators and security forces. The police used tear gas and water cannons. Even before US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in the country for talks, however, the protest action was called off by the IHH.
Yıldırım and his Islamist IHH organized the aid flotilla for the Gaza Strip in May 2010. With their ship "Mavi Marmara" they wanted to break the Israeli naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli navy boarded the ship. Ten activists were killed.
