The dollar jumped very significantly at the beginning of the war, but in recent days there has been good news for Israelis • A sharp drop against the shekel lowers the dollar's exchange rate very close to where it was the day before the war

Ben Gurion Airport is still empty relative to normal times, but there are already those who are thinking about the vacation after the war. There are quite a few destinations that are already becoming talked about, mainly because they are supporters of Israel, beyond being of course also attractive destinations. Among the destinations are the Czech Republic, Japan, Hungary, Romania and other countries.

With the outbreak of the Iron Sword War, we saw a significant jump in the dollar's exchange rate against the shekel, the dollar peaked at NIS 4.08, an increase of 22 agorot in a few days, which worried many in the Israeli economy, especially those working in the outbound tourism industry.

The increase we felt during the war meant that for every $1,000 we paid for vacation, we had to add another $220, but now the trend has completely reversed. In recent days, there has been a very significant decline in the dollar's exchange rate against the shekel, and the dollar's representative exchange rate stands at NIS 3.87.

This means that this is almost the same time as it was before the outbreak of the war. The additions of hundreds and sometimes thousands of shekels of those who ordered at the peak of the dollar exchange rate were erased and the dollar exchange rate dropped significantly against the shekel. This means savings that can reach thousands of shekels for a family vacation, compared to those who booked the exact same vacation, if they did so at the peak of the dollar exchange rate about ten days ago.

True, the pace of bookings is still slow, there are still very few Israelis who choose to fly or book a flight ticket these days, but the news will also affect prices in the economy in general and especially on products imported from abroad.
