In December, the district joins the MVV. The municipality of Fischbachau now has to draw up new contracts. The municipal council is divided on some points.

Fischbachau – Because the district of Miesbach will become part of the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV), the contracts between the municipalities and the RVO for bus transport will lose their validity at the timetable change on 10 December. New contracts must be concluded with the MVV for the recognition of guest cards as travel authorisations. The municipal council has now unanimously authorized Mayor Stefan Deingruber to do so.

Free train travel possible for holidaymakers with guest card

Deingruber had previously explained the agreement that the district had made in advance. "The recognition of the guest cards as an entitlement to travel in selected fare zones – i.e. in the four zones 6 to 9 – of the MVV area is intended to make it easier for overnight guests to access public transport within the MVV tariff area and around their holiday destination, thus encouraging them to switch from motorised private transport to local public transport." This is intended to reduce traffic and emissions in the tourist resorts and to increase the quality of stay.

Joining the MVV was also a topic of discussion in the Bayrischzell municipal council. There, the free train journeys for holidaymakers with a guest card were celebrated as a "real milestone".

Deingruber was able to report that almost all tourist municipalities incur lower costs. For Fischbachau, this would amount to around 7500,12 euros per year in the future instead of the current 000,5 euros – with an increase in performance. Deingruber outlined the area in question, in which Fischbachau's guests will be able to use buses and trains with their guest card in the future: It stretches from Bayrischzell to Kreuth in the south, to Bad Aibling in the east and no longer to Bad Tölz in the west. That would be in zone 4500. The ring traffic around the Wendelstein is included. Unfortunately, Holzkirchen does not. "That would have been <> euros more expensive," the mayor explained. All in all, the draft treaty is a good thing.

Discussions in the municipal council about special tickets

Brigitta Regauer (CSU) complained that as a guest card holder, you might have to buy a ticket at the boarding station, which would certainly raise questions. On the other hand, the holders of the 49-euro ticket would not need the free rides anyway. She suspected that a veritable calculation would only be possible if MVV was able to collect the relevant data. With a view to the enormous additional costs of including Holzkirchen (about 60,000 euros for Schliersee and 170,000 euros for Bad Wiessee), Regauer spoke of a "discovery process" with the MVV.

Michael Gartmaier (CSU) had previously called Holzkirchen a significant hub, especially in bad weather. District councils and tourism professionals should stay on the ball in this regard. Deingruber says: "Holzkirchen would be perfect, but it's not affordable." However, the excursion behaviour of the guests will be taken into account in further discussions.

While Gartmaier felt it was a "nice move" that guest card holders were off the streets, Willi Rothemund (FWG) considered the agreement to be a "total political blunder". On the one hand, the traffic turnaround is propagated, so that many locals would now take the bus – keyword senior citizen ticket – and then they would be thrown out of such agreements. An aberration, he complained.
