Eight people have been arrested in connection with a murder case linked to drug trafficking in Marseille and Gignac, Le Figaro has learned from the Marseille prosecutor's office, which confirms the information revealed by La Provence.
The suspects are all suspected of having taken part in the murder of a 23-year-old man, killed on August 31 in a context of drug trafficking in the city of Micocouliers. The victim had been shot several times in the legs, chest and back and could not be resuscitated. The possibility of settling scores was quickly considered, as the young man belonged to a drug trafficking network by the police.
50 kilos of cannabis seized
The eight people arrested were identified as belonging to a small team made up of several men and women, including a minor, and with different roles, according to La Provence. Among them were the sponsors, the people responsible for setting fire to the vehicle used to carry out the operation and the supplier of the firearms.
During the searches carried out at the homes of those arrested, 50 kg of cannabis were seized by the criminal brigade and the search and intervention brigade seized of the case. The defendants have all been indicted.
