First banned, then allowed, then banned again: Shortly before and even during a demonstration on Thursday evening in Frankfurt, courts made different decisions on the matter. The gathering under the title "Never again fascism - keeping the memory of the pogrom night alive, fighting anti-Semitism" was dissolved in the end, according to the police, but it remained peaceful.

The city had justified the ban with the fact that the applicant had previously called for pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel assemblies in Frankfurt and Berlin. The registered topic is "a cover" for a rather anti-Semitic event.
Shortly before the start of the event on the 85th anniversary of the pogrom night against Jews, the Frankfurt Administrative Court overturned the ban: a ban on assembly could only be imposed if public safety was directly endangered by the assembly. It cannot be ruled out that the actual motto will be "expanded". Nevertheless, an imminent threat to public security could not be assumed.
While the rally was already underway, the Hessian Administrative Court in Kassel ruled that the event would remain banned. The Senate overturned the lower court's decision, upholding the city's original ban. A reason was not yet available due to the "urgency" of the decision on Thursday evening. Dpa
