Thousands are currently accompanying Border Police Sgt. Ross Elisheva Rose Ida Lubin, who was killed on Monday in an attack near Jerusalem's Flower Gate.
Lubin immigrated to Israel from the United States in August 2021 without her family, and enlisted for compulsory service in the Border Police in March 2022. Her friends in the Border Police said she was a principled, brave, kind and smiling fighter who loved to help everyone and served in the Old City of Jerusalem with a sense of mission. Her family from Atlanta, USA, found it difficult to process her tragic death, saying: "She is our hero."

Lubin lived in Kibbutz Sa'ed, near the Gaza Strip, and on October 7 defended her kibbutz against an attack by Hamas terrorists. She then returned to operational activity in the Old City of Jerusalem, where she was killed. A large crowd arrived Thursday morning on Mount Herzl to pay their last respects to Lubin and express her appreciation for her contribution and for sacrificing her life to defend the country.
