The police on Thursday released the findings of an investigation carried out after the stabbing attack in Jerusalem last Monday, in which Border Police soldier Ross Ida Lubin was killed and another soldier was wounded. The investigation indicates that the attack occurred due to a serious disciplinary and operational failure in the conduct of one of the fighters, who apparently abandoned his position in violation of orders and instructions.
At the end of the investigation, Border Police Commander Major General Yitzhak Brick decided to immediately remove the soldier who had abandoned his position and mission, and return him to continue serving in the IDF. The attack took place last Monday near the Shalem police station in the capital, near the Flower Gate in the Old City. The attack was carried out by a 16-year-old terrorist from 'Issawiya, who was killed shortly after the attack by Border Police soldiers stationed at the scene. Another soldier was moderately wounded.
