Israeli airlines Arkia and Israir will operate direct flights between Ramon Airport near Eilat and Ben Gurion Airport completely free of charge for those evacuated from their homes and the families of the abductees, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The free flights will begin this coming Monday and will allow those evacuated to shorten the journey from Eilat to the center of the country and back without the need for payment.

Many of the evacuees were transferred to hotels in Eilat, but many of them work and most of their conduct takes place in the center of the country. The free flights will allow those evacuees and families of the abductees to visit their relatives, work and move around the country without the need for payment.

At the moment it is unclear how long the decision will last, at which point it will take effect on November 13 and it will be possible to take advantage of the new service on Arkia and Israir aircraft, which are currently the only two airlines flying between Ramon and Ben Gurion Airport.
