Anxiety hangs over the Alfred de Musset high school in Villeurbanne. About twenty teachers exercised their right to withdraw on Friday after one of their colleagues was threatened the day before by several students who "promised" to "decapitate her and gouge out her eyes", according to a report by BFM which mentions a complaint being filed. These death threats were confirmed to Le Figaro by several sources close to the case, who denied that the complaint had been filed. On the other hand, the rectorate tells us that a report was made to the public prosecutor by the head of the school on Thursday.

According to our information, the teacher intervened as the main teacher of the final year students concerned, about a dispute that occurred outside her class. That's when the students allegedly rebelled and threatened her. "They have been identified and precautionary measures have been taken against them," the rectorate said. They will be summoned to disciplinary councils in the near future."

Classes resume on Monday

The teachers, who did not want to publicize the case to "avoid adding fuel to the fire while the situation is not unraveled," held a general assembly on Friday, according to a source close to the case. They are obviously particularly worried as their colleague from Arras, Dominique Bernard, was recently murdered. However, classes are due to resume on Monday.

The professor is supported by the academic services. "The protocol for supporting staff who are victims of violence has been put in place," says the rectorate. In particular, it can be used to assist them in any requests for functional protection, filing a complaint and medical follow-up.
