Le Figaro Marseille
A most disturbing discovery. On Thursday, the police intervened at the Stéphane Mallarmé middle school, in the 13th arrondissement of Marseille, following a call from the management. The educational team of this public school located on Avenue de la Croix Rouge noticed that several bullet holes were in the windows.
At the scene, police found that at least five windows on the 2nd floor had been riddled with a dozen small-caliber projectiles. According to a police source, it could be a "small lead". At the end of their investigations, the police were able to establish that these projectiles could have been fired between the end of October and the beginning of November, the period of the All Saints' Day holidays.
An RTM bus already targeted at the same time
No students or members of the teaching staff were injured, as the school was empty at the time of the incident. The shots were believed to have come from a building in the immediate vicinity of the college, and could have coincided with events that occurred in October. A bus belonging to the Régie des transports métropolitains (RTM) travelling in front of the establishment was also targeted by projectiles of the same calibre.
A source close to the case told Le Figaro that the facts had been reported to the academic inspectorate. When contacted, the management of the establishment could not be immediately reached. As the alleged shooter(s) have not been identified, an investigation has been opened and entrusted to the Judicial Support Group North of Marseille.
