An eleven-metre-tall Nordmann fir will be the Starnberg Christmas tree. It will be delivered and set up on Tuesday.
Starnberg – The people of Starnberg have Christl Spatz from Traubing to thank for their official Christmas tree 2023. She donated the beautifully grown Nordmann fir of eleven meters in length to the city, which will have the tree erected next week. The occasion, of course, is the Starnberg Christmas Market, which starts this year on Thursday, November 30, and lasts until Sunday, December 10 for the first time. The exact programme is not yet available.
Tree Day is next Tuesday, November 14th. The Christmas tree will be brought by a heavy-duty transport and escort vehicles from Traubing via the B 2, the Weilheimer and Hauptstraße to the intersection at Tutzinger-Hof-Platz and then via Wittelsbacherstraße to the church square, the city administration announced. For the loading process at Kirchplatz, Wittelsbacherstraße will be completely closed between 10 a.m. and 15 p.m. in the area between Ludwigstraße and Kirchenweg. The transport vehicle and crane are parked on Wittelsbacherstraße at the level of the church square.
On Wittelsbacherstraße, the passage for pedestrian traffic is still guaranteed. Residents will be informed about the closure in advance. After setting up, the tree is first decorated with fairy lights before it shines in the evening.
