Highlights: The Huwara bypass road will open this Sunday and will allow Israelis to travel safely outside the village of the murderers. Most of the work was completed last week, but the Samaria Council insisted that security elements be completed to allow safe movement of Israelis on the road. Since the beginning of the war, most road work in Israel has been frozen because Palestinian workers are not allowed to enter cities or work with Israeli employers. Even in the industrial zones within Judea and Samaria, only about 50% of the factories are authorized to employ Israelis.

Due to the significant security threat, Transportation Minister Miri Regev ordered the continuation of work in every way in order to complete the critical road • Last week, security components were completed that will enable passengers to move safely on the new road

The Huwara bypass road will open this Sunday and will allow Israelis to travel safely outside the village of the murderers, where many serious terrorist attacks have taken place over the past year. Israel Hayom has learned that in recent days, on the orders of Transportation Minister Miri Regev, the various parties have completed final preparations for opening the road, including security elements, and it will be opened to traffic at the beginning of the week.

This is not a trivial matter. Since the beginning of the war, most road work in Israel has been frozen because Palestinian workers are not allowed to enter cities or work with Israeli employers. Even in the industrial zones within Judea and Samaria, only about 50% of the factories are authorized to employ Israelis.

Due to the critical importance of the bypass, especially in times of war, the Minister of Transport ordered the work to continue with all its might in order to meet the original schedule. Netivei Israel and military vehicles were directed to work on the road as a top priority in order to open it to traffic on time. Most of the work was completed last week, but the Samaria Council insisted that security elements be completed to allow safe movement of Israelis on the road.

The village of Huwara is a particularly hostile village from which quite a few attacks have been launched. In addition, since this is a village where Israelis were forced to travel on their way home or to work, it has become a preferred location for terrorists from Nablus to carry out attacks. The last attack inside the village was just two days before the war, when a terrorist took advantage of a traffic jam inside the village and opened fire at a vehicle belonging to a family traveling there. Miraculously, the passengers were not injured.
