Essonne: a woman doused with oil and threatened with death in a bakery in Évry

It's a scene of extreme violence in the middle of a business, in the middle of the afternoon. A man is suspected of having sprayed his girlfriend with oil and threatened to set it on fire, this Thursday, November 9, in Évry-Courcouronnes (Essonne). He was immediately arrested by the police.

The incident occurred around 15 p.m. on rue du Plessis-Briard. A woman is in a bakery. A man appears in the crack of the door: it is his companion. It is equipped with a can of drain oil. The man then allegedly doused his girlfriend with oil, before making death threats... All this in front of witnesses and bakery staff.

For missing an appointment

Moments later, a national police crew passed through the area. The officers were approached by passers-by who described the scene that had just taken place. The suspect was immediately arrested and taken to the Évry-Courcouronnes police station. According to his initial statements, he said he had done so because his girlfriend had not kept an appointment with him. This aroused his wrath.

The 33-year-old suspect resides in Corbeil-Essonnes. It is not known if he has a criminal record. The <>-year-old was still in police custody on Friday for "violence with a weapon by destination", "repeated death threats" and... "damage to the property of others". The manager of the bakery wanted to file a complaint against him because of the damage caused by the waste oil in his business.
