There are countries that travelers are better off avoiding due to lack of safety. The Global Peace Index (GPI) provides information on which are the safest countries to travel to this year.

For many people, the safety of the destination plays an important role in the question of where to go on vacation. After all, when you go on holiday, you want to calm down and relax. Security and peace in the holiday destination are therefore important aspects when choosing a holiday destination. But what about the safety of many travel destinations? In the annual Global Peace Index (GPI), experts from the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) provide information on which countries travelers do not have to worry about their safety. Factors such as internal and external conflicts, crime rates, terrorist activities, violent demonstrations, relations with neighbouring countries and the militarisation of a country were examined.
