Israel had promised that it would respond vigorously to the Hamas attack on 7 October. His army first massed its tanks around the Gaza Strip, from where the murderous rezzou departed. It then struck the terror group's sites, ordering civilians to evacuate to the south, before entering the narrow 365-square-kilometer area from the north. The bombing has been particularly violent, especially since the Islamist armed group is holed up in the urban environment of Gazaville, right down to the bottom of the kilometers of tunnels they have dug under the city.
