Satellite images from the commercial Sentinel satellite showed Friday that the runway of Damascus International Airport is still punctured and destroyed and that the largest airport in the Arab country is still shut down, a month after it was first allegedly attacked by the Israeli Air Force.

According to reports heard yesterday in Syria, the airfield did not resume operations at the time of the beginning of the fighting in the Gaza Strip and the damage caused by the attack has not yet been repaired. Instead, Syria claims, civilian and apparently military flights were diverted to Latakia airport, near the Russian air base in Hmeymim.
