The tension, but also the anticipation of the fifth season is growing. Especially with the girls of the Schongauer Guard. Many are new this year, some for many years. However, the excitement and motivation are the same for everyone until it starts this Saturday at 10.30 a.m. in the Schongau Trachtenheim.

Schongau - It's bustling in the Trachtenheim on the Heligoland: The 15 girls of the Mini-Guard train there under the direction of Sarah Linder and Caro Hirschauer. The costumes and shoes still have to be tried out and of course the new guard march has to be rehearsed. It's still a while until the premiere at Inthroball on January 13th, but the excitement is growing. Especially since they will have their first official appearance this weekend: At the presentation of all the guards and the new prince and princess this Saturday at 10.30 a.m. - also in the Trachtenheim on the Heligoland.

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter. And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

"It's great how the girls are pulling along and getting better and better," Linder doesn't skimp on praise for her team. The little guard girls are between four and nine years old: Romina Leier, Verena Jocher, Maresa Mock, Rosalie Beckstein, Antonia Negele, Lotta Filser, Jasmina Helzel, Maria Vavliaras, Melina France, Vanessa Hickl, Sophia Hönig and Franziska Stöhr are already among the "old hands", Johanna Müller, Greta Hirschauer and Eileen Lieb-Justino are taking part for the first time.

Since May, the Twelve have been practising the new show dance in the Jakob-Pfeiffer-Haus. And? Is it fun? "Yes, that's it!" comes unanimously from the girls, who are between 13 and 16 years old. Not only is the dance new this year, but there will also be new costumes. But they are not yet revealed.

During the new show dance of the Prince's Guard and the new costumes, the trainers Anne Löw and Regina Kassebaum also wrap themselves in silence. It's supposed to be a surprise. What will be revealed in advance are the names of the young women between the ages of 16 and 23 who will rock the carnival balls in Schongau and the surrounding area this year: The troupe around Amelie Heck, Antonia Kaul, Anna-Lena Führer, Helena Sprenzel, Nina Häntschel, Annika Brenzing, Klaudia Kostrzewa and Rebekka Geiger will be strengthened this year by Johanna Beer, Marie Heinrich, Nina Konrad, Emelie Bader and Janina Schleich.
