Highlights: Teenager claims to have saved a 12-year-old girl from an attempted kidnapping. A man in his fifties allegedly pulled the girl by the arm and tried to force her into a car. A bag full of candy and a large machete-type knife were found in the back seat. The girl was picked up by her mother and confirmed that she did not know her attacker. The case is under investigation and has not led to any arrests for the moment, a police source said.

The young man explained to the police that an individual had tried to take the little victim into his car, in Plaisir, on Friday evening.

A 16-year-old boy contacted the police on Friday evening to explain that he had just taken charge of a girl who was the victim of an attempted kidnapping, in Plaisir (Yvelines), in front of a residence located near the Auchan supermarket.

At around 19:30 p.m., an individual, whom the witness described as "bald, corpulent" and in his fifties, allegedly pulled the girl by the arm and tried to force her into a car, a white and black Range Rover with a sunroof.

On his way home, the 16-year-old reportedly heard the victim's screams and cries for help. He then allegedly rushed to the car, the back door of which was still open. According to the statements made by this witness to investigators at the local police station, a bag full of candy and a large machete-type knife were found in the back seat.

The man is believed to have fled the scene in his Range Rover

"In her jogging pants and pink coat," the girl he described was crying. The young man then allegedly punched the assailant to get him to let go. After being tear gassed in the face, he managed to retrieve the little victim by pulling him by the arm and placed him under his protection.

The assailant then allegedly shouted "Give me back the little girl!" before fleeing in the direction of the Ebisoires roundabout. The "savior" explained that he had accompanied the girl home. Picked up by her mother, she reportedly confirmed that she did not know her attacker.

On Saturday evening, the Yvelines Departmental Directorate of Public Security was "very cautious" with regard to this case, which is under investigation and has not led to any arrests for the moment. "There are a number of points that need to be checked at this stage," a police source said.

According to the teenager's statements, the assailant, a European-type man with "a long white beard" and measuring 1.75 m, was dressed in a white shirt, khaki-colored wide-leg pants and black sneakers. The investigation by the Plaisir police officers continues.
