Unterallgäu – Whether it's a bakery or a youth fire brigade, a bookcase or neighbourhood help, folk song singing or a computer meeting:
In both Ollarzried and Lautrach, there are countless offers by and for citizens of all ages. The commission of this year's village competition was so impressed by the development of both places in the district decision that both Ollarzried and Lautrach will now represent the Lower Allgäu at district level next year. "We are pleased to be able to send two worthy representatives of our district to the next round," emphasized Markus Orf, head of the evaluation commission from the district office.
The Ottobeuren district of Ollarzried had entered the nationwide competition "Our village has a future" in the category "up to 600 inhabitants", Lautrach in the category "up to 3000 inhabitants". A jury has now taken a look at the two municipalities at district level. For example, topics such as the development concept and green design, but also economic initiatives, cultural activities and building development.
Ollarzried and Lautrach are one round further in the village competition - it continues at district level
The village competition is taking place for the 28th time this year. The aim of the nationwide initiative is to promote the villages and their village community. It's about recognising strengths and weaknesses in the village and developing together. However, the competition is far from over after the district decision: it will continue first at the district level, then possibly at the state and federal level.
