Highlights: "Some blocked me": Idan Raichel is very angry - and here's why | Israel Hayom. The singer-songwriter strongly condemned Israeli artists who make a substantial living and formulate "dangerous" responses, according to him. "Selling their country and people, we must not give up to anyone", he wrote. "Some have already blocked me. Others have asked – so feel free to follow their disgrace and respond," he added. "They are actually harming Israel in time of war, consciously or not," he asserted.

The singer-songwriter strongly condemned Israeli artists who make a substantial living and formulate "dangerous" responses, according to him, to the events of the October 7th, and to the issue of the abductees in particular • "Selling their country and people, we must not give up to anyone"

Along with a picture of 12-year-old kidnapped Erez Calderon, Idan Raichel posted Saturday night in which he sought to bring to the forefront the shameful treatment of Israeli artists who make a living abroad and also express understanding for the Palestinian side in the terrible war that broke out on October <>. In a detailed text, he explained why comparing a terrorist held in an Israeli prison to a kidnapper in Gaza is very dangerous, and shared his way of fighting them.

"Israeli musicians who live abroad and cannot make a living from their music but only abroad (because as brilliant as they may be, in Israel their music is relatively marginal)," Reichel wrote. "It is clear that they depend on the global audience for their livelihood and on platforms that offer them work (while they also have the simple option of remaining silent during combat). They are actually harming Israel in time of war, consciously or not," he asserted. "Why? Because the narrative they present tells us that there is ostensibly mutual pain on both sides, that they are ostensibly balanced, and that Palestinian prisoners should be released in return for the release of the abductees. In so doing, they create a dangerous equation between a terrorist who murdered civilians in Israel in terror attacks and was caught, tried and convicted to prison and an innocent 12-year-old Israeli boy kidnapped in Gaza, who did nothing to anyone in the world."

Later, he asked not to diminish the importance of the influence of these artists despite the unimpressive number of followers they have on social media, and shared his way of confronting them. "Such musicians, at best, are no small hypocrites, and at worst harm Israeli public diplomacy in times of war and in fact sell their country and their people in exchange for flattery to the world. Make no mistake about their usually small number of followers. These musicians are well known among many influential strata, and their stuff can trickle down to much more well-known opinion leaders. All of this is very outrageous. At this point, he just responds to them and takes a screenshot. Some have already blocked me. Others have asked – so feel free to follow their disgrace and respond. We must not give up to anyone. Our children are in Gaza. There are no two sides here," he signed.
