Following MK Ayda Touma-Suleiman's tweet on Network X (formerly Twitter), the human rights organization B'Tselem submitted a letter to the Knesset Ethics Committee demanding that she be banned for a maximum period of time and fined financially.
In a tweet, Suleiman blamed Israel for blowing up Shifa Hospital, "operating rooms are bombed, the smell of phosphorus in the air, out of 48 surgeons there are seven left, and live fire on displaced people in the humane corridors."

In his letter, Shai Glick, the organization's director-general, wrote: "This is not only fake news, it is a direct attack on the State of Israel. This is an act that severely harms every citizen of the country, every soldier, the families of the abductees, the families of the fallen and the entire nation of Israel. Quite the opposite. The State of Israel does not harm innocent people, it allows humanitarian passage, and Hamas is the one that harms those who cross and the IDF soldiers who guard the passersby. This act severely undermines the public's trust in the Knesset. I call on the Ethics Committee to convene immediately to determine that MK Ayda Touma Suleiman knowingly violated the ethics rules and to remove her for the maximum period of time and to fine her financially."
In addition, he said: "We will no longer allow anyone to incite and harm our dear and beloved IDF soldiers. Ayda is invited to get up and move to Gaza today and serve as a human shield for Hamas, until then she will not remain in the Knesset for even one more day. We will continue to fight anyone who harms and incites against the State of Israel and more in times of war."
