Following the Iron Sword War and instructions from the Home Front Command, the traditional Sigd prayer on the Armon Hanatziv promenade in Jerusalem was held today (Monday) in a limited format – in the presence of Kassim, the clerics of the Ethiopian community.

In normal times, crowds visit the site for the event, but due to the security situation this year, the general public is not allowed to enter the prayer area. Those present arrived in traditional white clothing and held colorful parasols, which are a symbol of status and honor.

The magicians who participated in the prayer mentioned the abductees, as well as Avera Mengistu, and asked him not to be forgotten. The Kassim prayed for the speedy return of all the hostages home.

Kass Haksim, Berko Tegnia, considered the head of the priests and leader of the Ethiopian community in Israel, delivered a special prayer in the Ge'ez language, and the event was accompanied by singers.

"May the magic prayer open the gates of mercy and thanks to this prayer we will see everyone return home safely," said Shmuel Yelma, a social activist and one of the initiators of the evening. "May we know days of quiet and peace, days of understanding and solidarity within us, and not forget the fallen."
