Jordanian Parliament Speaker Ahmed al-Safadi on Monday called on the judiciary committee to examine the agreements signed with Israel and recommend conditioning them on a ceasefire on the war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Parliament unanimously supported the resolution.

During his speech, the speaker of the Jordanian parliament lashed out at Israel. "The crimes of the sons of the Zionists, the murderers of the prophets and the innocents, will only make our people in Palestine stronger," Safadi said. It is an enemy that cannot be trusted and we will not normalize relations with it – not today and not tomorrow and not in the long term."

"I ask the government to transfer wounded people in the Gaza Strip to hospitals in Jordan," the parliament speaker added, "I call on the judicial committee to examine the agreements signed with the Homs entity and make the necessary recommendations in their matter in order to present them to the government. The agreements must be conditional on the cessation of the aggression on Gaza."
Safadi stressed at the beginning of the parliamentary session that King Abdullah's efforts contributed to changing world public opinion after being led by the "false Zionist narrative." He also stressed the importance of "Jordanian unity" and continued support for the regime.

According to him, Jordan continues to support the Palestinians and make efforts to establish a field hospital. Moreover, he claimed that Queen Rania's remarks in interviews with the world media (in which she denied the scale of the massacre) helped change international public opinion. He also promised that the parliament would coordinate with the government and the army to increase the number of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank."
Finally, the speaker of parliament called on the judicial committee to establish a framework for submitting complaints through official channels to the International Court of Justice in The Hague regarding "war crimes in Gaza."
