Tsunami of anti-Semitism in the US: Dozens of tombstones were desecrated at Grace Shel Emet Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio, when unknown assailants spray-painted swastikas there.
Authorities have so far not responded to media inquiries about antisemitic vandalism, but the Jewish Federation of Cleveland stepped up to remove graffiti from the headstones and a group of 20 volunteers arrived at the cemetery and cleaned the headstones.
"It's just sickening to think that someone has so much hatred that they would desecrate the True Grace cemetery. This cowardly act, which desecrates the memory of our ancestors, only serves as proof of what we all already know, that hatred of Jews is at a level we have not seen in generations," the local Jewish federation said in a statement.

"We will support law enforcement in every way to see those guilty and held accountable for their actions. We will repair the damage to the cemetery and restore dignity to the tombstones. We will continue to fight hatred against all communities with never-ending determination," the Jewish Federation said in a statement.
The incident sparked reactions in local politics. Representative Shontel Brown wrote: "I am saddened and outraged that a Brooklyn cemetery and an Ohio cemetery have been desecrated. My thoughts are with the local Jewish community - we are with you. Anti-Semitism has no place either in New York or Ohio."
