The chairman of the state camp, Minister Benny Gantz, visited the north on Tuesday. Gantz began his visit to the Northern Command, where he met with Maj. Gen. Uri Gordin and received from him an operational overview of the northern sector. Later, he visited the Kiryat Shmona municipal war room, together with Mayor Avichai Stern and Hermon Mayor Benny Ben Mobahir, and Metula, together with Mayor David Azoulay.

"I am concluding a tour of Metula and Kiryat Shmona and wish to send reinforcement to all the residents of the north and south who were evacuated from their homes, we are all with you and behind you, you are the tailwind of all of us. I met with most of the mayors in the sector in recent weeks, and I would like to express appreciation for the civilian effort and leadership of all the authorities," Gantz said at the end of the visit.

"I also visited the Northern Command earlier, where and on the ground there is alertness, effective operational activity and readiness to expand the campaign, as needed. I see Nasrallah's conduct and ask: Has he lost touch with the reality on the ground? This question must now be asked by the citizens of Lebanon and the Lebanese government."

He continued: "We will not go back to October 6. Here, too, we are acting offensively, and the goal is clear – to allow the residents to return here safely. In the south, we continue, deepen, and expand the maneuver. As you have seen, IDF soldiers go anywhere in Gaza City where terrorists are located, and will go anywhere in the Gaza Strip as needed. I would like to emphasize that even if a ceasefire is required in order to return hostages, there will be no stopping of the war. We continue until we achieve our goals."

"Has he lost touch with the reality on the ground?"

Referring to the abductees, he said: "I would like to share from the bottom of my heart the heavy sorrow of Noa Marciano's family and send her a hug, as well as all the families of the abducted, missing and murdered. I am aware of the justified and natural fears of the families of the abductees, that we are indeed facing a cruel and faceless enemy."

"Even now, and at this moment, we are making every political and military effort to bring the girls and boys home safely. We are doing everything possible to bring everyone back, by any means. We will continue to fight until the reality on our borders changes."
