Res. Sergeant Raz Abulafia, 27, from Rashpon, a soldier in Battalion 6863 of the 12th Brigade, fell in battle in the Gaza Strip, and yesterday (Monday) his family and friends received the worst news of all. His funeral will take place today at 16 p.m. in Rashpon.

Aviv Rubin, a family friend, said painfully: "Last night I went to comfort friends
whose son fell for the homeland, the fighter Raz Abulafia. I couldn't find the words to comfort. Total shock."

"Raz's father, Yehoshua, said: 'What am I going to do with a lot of pain? Raz had plans,' he says with immense pain. But this is our way, and you see in front of you a person who is all pain, with a huge heart, with a great soul who accepts it. Joshua and Miri are good people, and no parent deserves to bury their children."
Alon Cohen, Raz's co-worker, eulogized him: "Thank you for the privilege of getting to know you. The eyes that speak and show how good it was in you. Rest in peace friend. Raz was a man in every sense of the word. His smile would say it all, everything was focused, just goodness and joy he would instill in his environment."
