Yaakov Nitzan, father of Gilad Nitzan, who fell in battle in Gaza, wrote to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, commanders, ministers and Knesset members on Tuesday: "Go all the way and restore security to all parts of the country, so that the blood of our children will not be in vain."
He added: "A little more than a month has passed since the beginning of the calamity that befell us. The people, who until recently were divided and divided, rose up and overcame. Disputes have been forgotten, quarrels and social disconnections have given way to one simple recognition: We are one people, a Jew, an Israeli land.

When we were privileged to see our sons for the last time in the assembly grounds in the south, we saw a glimmer in his eyes, a brilliance of determination and a clear knowledge that there is no justice in this war, and with this knowledge came a tremendous and terrible willingness to give his life if necessary for the continued existence of the people of Israel in its land. Together with him we saw a generation of lions, sweaty, dusty, who were after days of stubborn fighting in the surrounding communities, soldiers who saw terrible scenes that could melt hearts with fear. But this generation has turned its emotions and energies to the current war. And as far as these young men who give their lives are concerned, this war will continue until the future of the people of Israel is secured in our land."
He added: "In every war, there comes a moment when the decisive point is on the agenda. This point usually emerges with a difficult dilemma, to continue the struggle? Or to compromise on false promises, partial peace, and little and no exhaustive achievement of the war's objectives?
Before Judah Maccabee's war in Beit Horon, his brothers came with realistic claims to him: 'And seeing the next camp towards them, they said to Judah:
How can we, the few, fight with this powerful mass, and we are tired, we did not eat today. And Judah said: 'It is easy for many to be shut down by the hands of a few, and there is no restraint before heaven to save the many or the few, for it is not in the great force of the victory of war, and from heaven that is heroic.'"

Nitzan concluded: "They come to us with pride and crime to destroy us and our women and our sons and to plunder us, and we fight for our souls and our Torah, and God will slay them before us and you will not fear them. When embarking on this war, you said that "there will be prices that must be paid," and indeed we did. We, and many other good families, paid with the blood of our best sons. I call and demand of you, do not stop. This is the time and this is the order of the day. Show historical Jewish heroism, and continue this war until it is fully defeated. It is not enough only to erase Hamas, but to maintain full and clear security control over all parts of the Land of Israel. We all have our eyes on you."
