White House spokesman John Kirby said Sunday evening that the United States had indications that Hamas had used hospitals, among other things, to store weapons and detain abductees. In this way, the administration aligns itself with Israel, following the testimony of Brigadier General of the IDF Spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, as presented yesterday, and his statements from the beginning of the war regarding Shifa Hospital.

According to Kirby, the United States has intelligence that such use was made at Shifa Hospital, which constitutes a war crime.

"We have information that a specific hospital is being used as a headquarters and weapons are probably stored there," Kirby said. "This is a war crime."

However, Kirby added that these actions by terrorist organizations do not diminish Israel's responsibility not to harm civilians.
