Berglern: Two days of Advent market

2023-11-18T18:08:19.601Z

Highlights: Berglern: Two days of Advent market. On offer are embroidery or knitwear, self-sewn children's clothing or traditional costume jewellery, wood and ceramics, Christmas tree decorations or Advent wreaths. All contribute to supporting local charities. As always, a portion of the proceeds goes into a common pot for such purposes. Since the site is located directly on the village thoroughfare, the building yard takes care of safety. In some cases, the stalls are also set up in such a way that they shield the square from the street.

For the 24th time, the Advent market will take place in Berglern on Saturday/Sunday, 2/3 December. 17 booths will be represented on site.

Mountaineers – On offer are embroidery or knitwear, self-sewn children's clothing or traditional costume jewellery, wood and ceramics, Christmas tree decorations or Advent wreaths, partly by private artists. All contribute to supporting local charities. As always, a portion of the proceeds goes into a common pot for such purposes.

Almost exclusively local staff are involved in the cultural programme, especially the children. Both daycare centers and the primary school are represented. The project band Ton in Ton gives a concert. The Berglern brass band will have two performances, the first at the opening on Saturday at 17 p.m. before the speech by Mayor Anton Scherer.

For the children, the nostalgic carousel of the Rilke family, which has been an integral part for years, is offered, and in the parish hall there is a reading hour for children on Sunday at 14 pm. Since the site is located directly on the village thoroughfare, the building yard takes care of safety. In some cases, the stalls are also set up in such a way that they shield the square from the street. On Saturday, the market runs from 17 p.m. to 22 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 19 p.m.

"The people of Berglern like to party," Mayor Anton Scherer once said when the idea of reviving the village festival came up. On the cozy square between the stalls and the many lights there will be an opportunity to do so again.
