First fuel delivery to the Gaza Strip
A first shipment of fuel arrived in the Gaza Strip on Friday after Israel gave the green light, in order to end the suspension of telecommunications that is blocking the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian territory.
Earlier, at the request of the United States, Israel had allowed two truckloads of fuel into the Gaza Strip each day, where shortages of fuel, needed to power generators, have knocked out many hospitals and halted telecommunications and humanitarian aid deliveries.
