Around 100 guests had gathered in the Allianz Hall of the Centre for Environment and Culture (ZUK) for a "ZUKunfts Gala". For a long time, it was not clear whether it could take place at all.

Benediktbeuern – "We had already planned this event in February and are grateful that we were able to hold it under the current circumstances," says Managing Director Benedikt Hartmann when asked by our newspaper. In cooperation with CSU Minister for Family Affairs Ulrike Scharf in her function as the new chairwoman of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the ZUK, the President of the State Parliament, Ilse Aigner, was won over as patron. The event, which was aimed at invited guests only, was moderated by BR presenter Caro Matzko.

Prince Marcello of Bavaria was also present

"We would not have been able to hold the meeting without the support of the craftsmen and all our employees," says Hartmann gratefully. Music was provided by a group of students. Among the guests were representatives of companies from the region, from culture, private individuals and local politicians as well as Prince Marcello of Bavaria, according to the Facebook page of the "House of Bavaria". According to Hartmann, it was a "network meeting" so that the friends and supporters of the ZUK could get to know each other and find out about the ongoing projects in the fields of education and nature conservation.

Of course, the hail damage throughout the village was also discussed. "Thanks to the emergency roof over the Maierhof, no more water can penetrate now," says Hartmann, adding: "It's amazing what the craftsmen do here day in and day out on the monastery grounds."
