Nothing escapes the viewers of the Vox show "The Perfect Dinner": On the fourth day of the Munich Week, they uncover a cake pan swindle.
Munich – On day four, "The Perfect Dinner" is not only about swinging the wooden spoon – contestant Nataly also wants to prove her talent in baking. The 31-year-old prepares a cheesecake. But during the scene, fans notice something that hints at a little trick during filming. Is the amateur cook really deceiving the audience?
"You've seen that too, haven't you?": On the set of "The Perfect Dinner" there is apparently trickery
"The Perfect Dinner" is making a guest appearance in Munich this week – but there has been no regional cooking so far. Contestant Nataly wants to change that and at least spices up the Asian appetizer with homemade mushrooms. For dessert, she has opted for a rather traditional dish: there is a cheesecake, which she proudly presents right at the beginning of the show and pulls out of the oven. But it is precisely this scene that becomes her undoing. Because the fans are sure that they have uncovered a hoax at this point.

A cake – freshly pulled out of the oven – is usually still quite hot. It is precisely for this reason that the Munich native wants to let the sweet dish cool down in the fridge. But when she touches the shape with her bare hand, she amazes the audience. "You also saw that she put away the hot cake pan with her bare hand, didn't you?" someone asks on Platform X (formerly Twitter) incredulously. Another fan is already sure: this is cheating. "She could handle the baking pan without gloves, so it wasn't hot anymore," he concludes.
The concept of "The Perfect Dinner"
Since 2006, the cooking documentary has been a permanent fixture at Vox. From Monday to Friday, a total of five amateur chefs will compete for victory. After each dinner, points are awarded on a scale of 0 to 10 so that a lucky winner can be chosen at the end. Each candidate can decide for themselves how the points are composed – taste, atmosphere, selection of drinks and mood can be included in the evaluation. What is exciting for spectators and participants alike is that everyone cooks in their own four walls and gives pretty much private insights.
In addition to the "normal" dinner, there are regular special editions with prominent participants. However, "The Celebrity Dinner" will not be shown during the week, but on Sundays at primetime.

"Magic Bakepan": Viewers Make Fun of "The Perfect Dinner" Trick
However, the viewers take the supposed trick on set with humor and even make fun of the scene. "The baking pan must be magical. Out of the oven and cooled down enough that she can put them in the fridge without gloves," jokes one user – and already sees the next business idea for another Vox show. "A case for the 'Lion's Den,'" he suggests.

"The Perfect Dinner" is obviously tricky. Immediately after baking, contestant Nataly can touch the supposedly hot baking pan. © Screenshot: The Perfect Dinner/ Vox
In the end, however, Nataly does not have to score points with the spectators, but with the competition. This is likely to be difficult, after all, she has to change her cooking due to some eating habits. Sebastian, for example, is a pescatarian and has an allergy to nuts, and coriander is sometimes unpopular with her guests. Whether she has a chance against Wednesday candidate Lutz is also questionable. After all, the "The Perfect Dinner" contestant learned from a celebrity TV chef.
