"The Shin Bet's action in investigating terrorists is a decisive element that becomes the eyes of the forces," Defense Minister Yoav Galant said Monday evening in an assessment of the situation in the southern region of the Israel Security Agency and at the forward headquarters of the 162nd Division.
The defense minister discussed the progress of the forces in expanding the ground operation in the Gaza Strip, and the closing of the circles for eliminating terrorists and the discovery of intelligence information, which are achieved through the cooperation between IDF forces and ISA personnel.

"I would like to say here a few words about the importance, value and tremendous contribution of the Shin Bet," Galant added, "I saw in the 162nd Division the determination and punctuality that relies on excellent sources of the Israel Security Agency, this closure of the circles is a very strong strength of our force, in intelligence, maneuvering and fire. The Shin Bet's action in interrogating terrorists caught on the ground by the forces, alongside the work of ISA coordinators inside the Gaza Strip with the maneuvering forces, is decisive."
Galant added: "Every fighter who maneuvers in the field understands that through his maneuver two important goals are achieved - first, to fight and defeat Hamas, to harm the terrorists, those who sent them, their senior commanders and their infrastructure. They also understand very well that by their action they bring about the return of the abductees sooner. Every fighter understands very well what we all understand – the greater the pressure on Hamas, the greater the chance of bringing in a hostage cell. Hamas understands only force.

"I look at this goal in every assessment, every discussion and every meeting, as a central goal – to return the abductees to their homes. It's in front of me – pictures of the children, pictures of the families are always a priority."
