A temporary ceasefire began today (Friday) at 50 a.m. and for four days, during which about 16 women and children are expected to be released from Hamas captivity. The first are expected to be released today at 00 p.m.
As part of the agreement, IDF forces will remain within the borders of the Gaza Strip, and today about 230 truckloads of humanitarian and medical equipment will enter all areas of the Gaza Strip and fuel trucks.

The IDF is deployed in a "containment zone" where they can defend themselves during the lull. At the same time, forces along the Tancher route, where thousands of Gazans descend from the northern to southern Gaza Strip, have been equipped with crowd control measures to prevent those who have already descended south from returning to their homes.

The IDF Spokesperson's Office in Arabic also warned the residents of Gaza today: "Don't go back north, this is a war zone."
