In 2024, the Walchensee power plant will celebrate its 100th birthday. Musically, this is celebrated in June and July – at the fourth "Music Summer". The program is now set, and tickets are available now.

Kochel am See – "Who would have thought when the power plant was founded in 1924 that 100 years later concert guests would be strolling across the forecourt, laughing, eating, drinking and enjoying great music?" asks Sabine Pfister, who runs the KKK ("Klein Kunst Kultur") in Lenggries together with her husband Stefan and is once again responsible for artist bookings, advance sales and event organisation this year. You can look at the plants from a different perspective, says Sabine Pfister, if you know the "insane construction history" of the power plant.

Since 2021, the Uniper Group has been holding the "Music Summer at the Walchensee Power Plant" in cooperation with the Pfisters. It has "become a permanent fixture in the cultural calendar of Kochel and the surrounding area," Klaus Engels, Director of the Hydropower Division in Germany, is quoted as saying in a press release. Initially, everything was still completely under the Corona requirements, but the visitor capacity was slightly increased year after year. In 2024, up to 600 visitors per evening of music can be received at its peak. "The experience of 2023 has shown that we can do this," says Stefan Pfister. There will be more parking facilities and additional toilet vans directly on the site.

Fishbones come with "Easy Days"

The series of events will open on Sunday, June 23, with a concert by the "Bananafishbones". The Tölzer Band has been on the Pfisters' wish list for some time, and this can now be realized in 2024. "Easy Days" is the name of the band's program. There will be a reunion with Claudia Koreck on Friday, June 28th. She was already a guest at the "Music Summer" in 2022 and thrilled the audience. This time she will present her new album "Kalender". At the third concert on Sunday, 7 June, musicians from Bavaria will also be on stage, namely "Pam Pam Ida". Under the motto "Koa Moang", they ask their fans: "Can you party like there's no tomorrow?" In contrast to all other concerts, this performance is unseated, says Stefan Pfister. Anyone with health impairments should indicate this in advance ticket sales, then a solution will be found.

"Italo Pop Night" at the end

The fourth concert on Friday, July 12, will be performed by Josef Brustmann together with Benni Schäfer, Marion Dimbarth, Martin Regnat and Luke Cyrus. "Out of the Blue" is the name of the program, it is special songs about life with all its ups and downs, thoughts, worries, wishes and hopes. The last two concerts are, so to speak, non-Bavarian. The duo "Wiener Blond" sings, grumbles and grooves on Thursday, July 18, under the motto "Until in the morning". The Pfisters had already hosted the two of them at the KKK in Lenggries before the Corona period and remember a "fantastic evening". "Unfortunately, the two are relatively unknown here, but are now sold out in Munich," says Sabine Pfister. She hopes that the rows at the Walchensee power plant will also fill up.

Finally, on Sunday, July 28th, there will be an "Italo Pop Night" with the band "I Dolci Signori". It covers hits from Adriano Celentano to Zucchero – and promises an entertaining, lively summer evening in hopefully also Mediterranean weather.

Information about all concerts can be found online at www.uniper.energy/musiksommer. Tickets are available via the new ticket shop of the KKK: www.shop-kkk-lenggries.de. Information telephone: 0 80 42/91 24 65. All concerts start at 20 p.m., doors open at 18:30 p.m.
