A tractor-trailer is lying across the A8 on Saturday morning. Presumably due to slippery conditions, the truck driver lost control. The motorway in the direction of Munich was closed for hours.

14:03 p.m.: After the rescue, the traffic police still have a few backgrounds to the accident. According to the report, the truck was so badly damaged that 400 liters of diesel ran out of the tank. The volunteer fire brigade of Au and the Rosenheim water management office were on site to keep the environmental damage as low as possible.

The full closure of the A8 lasted from the accident until 7.30 a.m. After that, the left of three lanes could be opened to traffic. The entire roadway was reopened at 09:30 a.m. after appropriate cleaning. The police estimate the damage to the truck at around 10,000 euros and the damage to the motorway at around 5000 euros.

Update, 09:44 a.m.: The motorway has been reopened. The traffic jam slowly dissolves.

Update, 09:01 a.m.: The highway was closed for more than three hours. In the meantime, some of the lanes have been reopened. The clean-up work is still ongoing, and the backlog currently stretches from the accident site to about the Inntal triangle.

At around 4.45 a.m. and in the direction of Munich between Bad Aibling and Irschenberg, the traffic police Rosenheim reports in a current preliminary report, the serious accident happened on the A8.

According to the police, the semi-trailer, i.e. the truck trailer, slid past the tractor unit on the left, virtually overtaking its own cab. The tractor-trailer buckled, crashed into the right-hand guardrail and came to rest across the road.

A large contingent of emergency services is on site. The motorway in the direction of Munich is completely closed from Bad Aibling. Forces from the Rosenheim traffic police, the volunteer fire brigade, the Rosenheim motorway maintenance department and the towing service are on site.
