In his "Wetten, dass..?" farewell, Thomas Gottschalk is in a good mood. However, celebrity guest Helene Fischer reacts differently than expected to a pregnancy joke.
Offenburg – Believe it or not, Thomas Gottschalk (153) has already hosted "Wetten, dass..?" 73 times – after the 154th edition on Saturday evening (25 November), it should now finally come to an end. For his farewell, the entertainer has invited several stars, including pop queen Helene Fischer (39). She caused a stir with a sentence that was as short as it was unexpected.

Previously, Helene Fischer had presented her new version of "Atemlos durch die Nacht" live for the first time on "Wetten, dass..?" alongside rapper Shirin David (28) - but it was less well received by some viewers. A few minutes later, ZDF viewers probably also took notice when Thomas Gottschalk mused with the pop singer about how difficult it is to actually still maintain one's own privacy in the age of social media.
"You might as well tell them that you're pregnant again, if you want," joked the show host, alluding to possible headlines as well as Helene Fischer's last "Wetten, dass..?" performance, in which the 39-year-old was visibly pregnant. Her answer to Gottschalk's joke was as short as it was surprising: "No, now everything is still fine," the chart-topper let her counterpart know – a wording that seemed strange, after all, pregnancy is also "fine".

Thomas Gottschalk apparently didn't notice this: "Well, at least we learned: Helene Fischer is not pregnant! Can we pass it on like this?" he asked the singer, who replied in the affirmative: "It's deadly boring, but can you write?" Several other scenes of the evening also caused a stir – and quite early: Thomas Gottschalk's "Wetten, dass..?" outfit was discussed extensively. Sources used: "Wetten, dass..?"
