If that's not a motivating motto: "100 years of Gaupreis shooting of the Gau Erding", it was said. For two weeks, there was a lot going on at the shooting ranges of Buchenlaub Buch and at the district shooting range in Altenerding. Now it was time for the prize distribution.
Oberbierbach – A century after the first shooting shortly after its foundation in 1923, there were now correspondingly special prizes – flags and gold bars for the shooters in first and second place. The teams received flags and cash prizes. For all shooters, achievement badges were awarded when a certain achievement was achieved. The award ceremony took place at the Gasthaus Strasser in Oberbierbach.
The award ceremony of the youth had already taken place at the Gaujugendtag (we reported). At 371, 174 of them from the youth, the participation was lower than in 2022. The support shooters were diligent at the stand, and the shooting was excellent. The top positions were fiercely contested.
The top prize was won by Alt Niederneuching with 24 shooters, followed by Buchenlaub Buch (22) and Treu Bayern Kirchasch (19). The air rifle team competition went to Buchenlaub Buch with 1918 rings. Jennerwein Eicherloh was narrowly beaten with 1913 rings, closely followed by Alt Niederneuching (1912 rings). Best shooter: Christian Irl from Treu Bayern Kirchasch (396).
In the air pistol, Edelweiss Tading won with 1100 rings ahead of Gambrinus Niedergeislbach (1082) and Diana Harthofen-Reithofen (1080). With 374 rings, Bernd Brus from Diana was the best shooter. The team ranking of the air rifle edition was won by Edelweiss Pretzen (1269.7) ahead of Buchenlaub Buch (1266.9) and Jennewein Mauggen (1252.9). The best shooter with 424.4 rings was Horst Holme from Edelweiss Pretzen.
In the air pistol edition, Jennewein Mauggen was in the lead with 1228.3 rings ahead of Hubertus Hörlkofen (1208.4). Best shooter: Gottfried Gams von Jennewein Mauggen (412.3).
The fixed disc and the most valuable non-cash prize was won by Wolfgang Eibel from Jennerwein Eicherloh with a 7.1 divider. Second place went to Christian Irl from Treu Bayern with a 7.8 divider.
Individual rankings were divided into air rifle and air pistol. The victory in the men's/women's I/II class went to Christian Irl from Treu Bayern with 297 rings. In the men's/women's III/IV class, Klaus Waldherr from Alt Niederneuching (290 rings) was victorious. The senior class with the air rifle was the most fiercely contested. Only 0.1 rings separated the first two – Holme from Edelweiss Pretzen (318.4) ahead of Anton Eisner from Buchenlaub Buch (318.3). Again, only 0.1 rings behind, Martin Rappold from Bucher came in third place with 318.2 rings.
The air pistol class men/women I/II was won by Franz Eberl (Edelweiss Tading) with 281 rings. Second place went to Thomas Marschmann (Gambrinus Niedergeislbach) with 281 rings. In the men's/women's III/IV category, Bernd Brus from Diana Harthofen-Reithofen was first with 282 rings.
The senior class with the air pistol was a club championship of Jennewein Mauggen. Gottfried Gams won with 310.4 rings ahead of Herbert Sterr (307.9) and Jakob Bauer (307.3).

The second chance, where the first three in the ranking received gold prizes, went to Tatjana Huber from Schwillachtal Unterschwillach with 156 points. First place went to Jakob Bauer from Jennewein Mauggen with 158 points, shot with the air pistol. Close behind are Michael Neumeier from Immergrün Thalheim (158) and Anton Eisner (157).
At the end, eagerly awaited, the cheering shot was fired. Everyone was eligible to start, all dividers were scored. It was not the best divider who won, but the winner chosen by lot. The prize was only awarded to the winner if he or she was personally present at the award ceremony. The 1017.0 divider was randomly drawn as the winning divider. And that's exactly what Wolfgang Eibel had shot. He was happy to receive 300 euros, which he was able to receive from the hands of Gauschützenmeister Waldherr.
