Fear of another incident involving an Israeli ship in the Red Sea. The US Navy intervened in an incident in which Houthi rebels attempted to seize control of the cargo ship Central Park in the Red Sea. According to a report by the cruise intelligence and security company Aubrey, a U.S. Navy warship instructed the Central Park crew not to comply with Houthi demands before the rebels boarded the ship.

Mazodiac Maritime said: "It is suspected that the tanker Central Park (IMO: 9725823) was involved in a pirate incident while passing the Recommended International Transit Corridor (IRTC), approximately 54 nautical miles off the coast of Somalia, Africa. It is a chemical tanker built in 2015, under the Liberian flag, owned by Clumvez Shipping Inc., managed by UK-based Zodiac Maritime.

We convened an event management team at the company's headquarters in London. The safety of our 22 crew members on board is our top priority. The ship is headed by a Turkish captain and with him a multinational crew consisting of Russian, Vietnamese, Bulgarian, Indian, Georgian and Filipino citizens. The ship carries a full cargo of phosphoric acid. We are working closely with a coalition of offshore assets in the region."

The latest incident in the Gulf of Aden is the latest in a series of attacks or attempted attacks on tankers and ships on the strategic shipping lanes in the Red Sea, which have begun and intensified since the beginning of the Iron Sword War. Alongside the attempted attacks, the Houthis continue to threaten that Israeli vessels, or those owned by Israel, are being "targeted."
