The State Prosecutor's Office today (Monday) filed an indictment in the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court against Marwat al-Azza, a 45-year-old resident of the city and a journalist for NBC, for expressing solidarity with a terrorist organization, incitement to terrorism and obstruction of justice. The indictment was approved by the Attorney General and the State Prosecutor, and at the same time the State Attorney's Office requested that the defendant be detained until the end of the legal proceedings.

According to the indictment, which was filed through attorney Nehora Levy of the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office (criminal), Al-Azza posted on its Facebook account, which has about 3,000 followers and 2,000 members and is open to the general public, publications with words of praise, sympathy and encouragement for an act of terrorism, which, combined with the content and circumstances, has a real possibility that it will lead to terrorism. Thus, on the morning of October 7, the defendant posted a video showing terrorists from Gaza walking around an Israeli community near the Gaza Strip, with the caption: "I feel like I'm seeing a film that the Palestinian director and the reporter are Palestinian, and the heroes are from Gaza."

That morning, she also posted a video of the abduction of an elderly woman by Hamas terrorists, alongside the caption. "I'm not dead, black comedy, the hajja (old) happy, living the action before she dies." The publication had responses, such as: "I haven't laughed like that in a year," "The guys went into a nursing home and took them," and a response from the defendant: "Probably yes because there is more than one picture of old people, but our young people are good, don't hurt old people and women."

Before her arrest, al-'Aza deleted her Facebook account so that it could not be accessed again. In addition, after learning that there was an intention to interrogate and arrest her, she disappeared the mobile phone she was using. The defendant arrived at the police station without her mobile device and after writing necessary phone numbers on her leg.
