Last week, the graduation ceremony of the Golani Patrol fighters took place deep inside the Gaza Strip, at the end of a long course of one year and four months, during which they took part in the fighting. At the ceremony, the fighters were awarded the traditional "tiger" pin.

In recent weeks, the Golani Patrol operated as part of the Ga'ash Brigade (36th Division) in the fighting in the heart of the Zeitun neighborhood deep inside the Gaza Strip. The brigade's combat team eliminated operatives from the Zeitoun Battalion, many of them in hand-to-hand combat, exposed tunnel shafts and raided operational apartments of senior Hamas figures, where they found a large quantity of confiscated weapons.
Golani Patrol Commander Lieutenant Colonel David told the soldiers at the ceremony on the day of the runway: "Every speech at the end of the course, I tell you how proud I am of the graduating class. These days, it takes on a different meaning. We are the generation that has had the right and the duty to fight for our country. Be proud of yourself, continue to act professionally and dedicatedly. I'm proud of you – until victory!"
