"Our children will not be cannon fodder": The north did not like hearing Defense Minister Yoav Galant's remarks, and on Monday morning Moshe Davidovitch, head of the Mateh Asher Regional Council and chairman of the Confrontation Line Forum, strongly attacked him.
The minister said yesterday on the northern border: "Here in the eastern sector of Lebanon, which also overlooks Syria, the fighters are doing an excellent job. The result is the injury and killing of more than 100 Hezbollah terrorists, the destruction of dozens of observation posts, warehouses, bunkers and headquarters, and the withdrawal of Hezbollah forces from the front sector back deep into the area. These results are very impressive. The combination of all these tactical achievements will be translated into a different situation, which will later enable the return of the residents under completely different conditions than when we started this campaign."
Davidovitch responded sharply: "I am outraged by the defense minister's remarks. It's a hallucination! If the Minister of Defense thinks that the residents of the north will be Kfar Gaza 2 - he is mistaken! Our children will not be cannon fodder. They won't work on us! We demand that the Israeli government keep Hezbollah and the Radwan squads away across the Litani River. Our residents will not return to their homes to be human shields!"
